The National Erasmus+ Office in Palestine (NEO) is the official representative of the Erasmus+ Programme in Palestine. NEO is responsible for the local management of the international dimension of the higher education aspects of Erasmus+ in Partner Countries outside the EU, particularly in the Southern Mediterranean, Western Balkans, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia.
The NEO operates on behalf of the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA)—the body of the European Commission tasked with managing the Erasmus+ Programme.
Our Main Objective
The main objective of the NEO is to enhance awareness, visibility, relevance, effectiveness, and impact of the international components of the Erasmus+ Programme. The office also closely monitors policy developments in Higher Education (HE), and where relevant, in Vocational Education and Training (VET), Youth, and Sport sectors across Partner Countries.
Our Specific Objectives
- Supports the European Commission, EACEA, EU Delegations, and national authorities in countries not associated with Erasmus+ in implementing the international dimension of the programme in the areas of higher education, relevant vocational training, youth, and sport.
- Promotes and disseminates the results and outcomes of EU-funded Erasmus+ projects in Palestine and the region.
- Serves as the main contact for Erasmus+ stakeholders in Palestine, providing guidance and support to prospective applicants, beneficiaries, and organisations—including universities, youth institutions, and civil society actors.
- Supports EU partners (Commission, EACEA, EU Delegations) and local authorities in implementing international Erasmus+ activities outside the EU
- Promotes visibility and impact of Erasmus+ initiatives and keeps track of policy developments in HE, VET, youth, and sport fields
- Engages in regional collaboration: interacts with other NEOs, national agencies in EU Member States, and third countries to exchange best practices and organize joint events
