What We Do
Our specific activities lie in the following:
1. Promotion and Support
1.1. Information and awareness raising
1.1.1. Organising national and regional information and promotional activities in liaison with the EU Delegations and Commission services when appropriate, e.g. infodays, seminars, conferences, newsletters, web sites, fairs, etc.;
1.1.2. Disseminating general and specific documentation on the Erasmus+ programme international dimension in the sectors of higher education and relevant youth and vocational training (CBHE, ICM, Capacity building youth, VET, JM, JMD, Sport, youth virtual exchanges);
1.1.3. Raising awareness of important EU and Erasmus+ topics such as inclusion, green Erasmus+, digitalization of education, employability, etc.; and
1.1.4. Providing information other actions of the Erasmus+ Programme.
1.2. Assistance, advice and training
1.2.1. Supporting individuals and organisations, particularly the new or less experienced ones, with a view of increasing their participation in Erasmus+ international dimension actions;
1.2.2. Assisting in partner search activities by using internet based tools, cooperation networks, etc.;
1.2.3. Organising training sessions on how to prepare competitive proposals;
1.2.4. Advising on administrative procedures, rules and issues (e.g. role and responsibilities of partners in a consortium, costs, rights and obligations of partners, etc.), and explaining the scope and the modalities of funding schemes to be used in various actions of the Erasmus+ international dimension;
1.2.5. Advising in particular smaller and less experienced organisations on the setting up of appropriate management structures in projects with large budgets and/or numerous partners; and
1.2.6. Where appropriate, organising courses and training seminars for specific target groups (disadvantaged young people, organisations in related areas, women and young girls etc.) or on specific topics of various Erasmus+ international dimension.
2. Dissemination and Exploitation of Results
2.1. Organising thematic meetings with/for the EACEA and Commission services; providing the Commission and the EACEA with support for the preparation, organisation and hosting of meetings and events;
2.2. Disseminating project results by using internet-based tools, co-operation networks or conferences, and dissemination events;
2.3. Encouraging, by working with different national bodies (i.e. Ministries, etc.), the exploitation and mainstreaming of the projects results in order to maximise the impact at a national level;
2.4. Exploiting and generating synergies between different Erasmus+ actions;
2.5. Providing the relevant stakeholders (Commission, EACEA, EU Delegations, Ministries) with contribution to studies, analytical/statistical reports, etc. related to higher education, vocational training and youth; and
2.6. Provide support to Policy Dialogue activities in the field of higher education, youth, Sport and vocational training launched by the Commission services.
3. Support to Erasmus+ Stakeholders
The Commission considers NEO to be an important partner in the implementation of EU actions. The NEO should therefore cooperate closely with Commission services, Ministries and other national/international bodies. In this context, the NEO:
3.1. Provides regular reporting to the Ministries and EU Delegation on the implementation status (challenges and achievements) of the various actions under the Erasmus+ international actions,
3.2. Encourages the involvement and participation of various stakeholders in the activities organised by the NEOs,
3.3. Collects and elaborates data on the implementation of the Erasmus+ programme (e.g. participation of individuals and organisations, funding, coverage of priority areas, impact achieved, etc.),
3.4. Cooperates with other national/international stakeholders (e.g. regional or national Ministries) in order to explore synergies among various initiatives in the same field, and
3.5. Cooperates with the Erasmus+ National Agencies and National Contact Points in other regions of the world.
4. Support to the Team of Higher Education Reform Experts (HERE)
In line with the Terms of reference defining the HERE functioning, the NEO shall:
4.1. Follow the policy developments in the field of higher education, in the Third countries not associated to the Erasmus+ programme and beyond, in relation with the HERE,
4.2. Support and coordinate the local activities of the HERE team and ensure the efficient local follow-up and dissemination of information, especially of training and other activities they took part in,
4.3. Assist in the process of selection, appointment and renewal of the HEREs in the Third countries concerned,
4.4. Establish the annual work programme, implement the budget and monitor the activities of the HEREs. In particular, the NEO manages part of the costs incurred by the HERE such as the participation in external events (travel costs, daily allowances) and the costs related to local initiatives involving the HERE,
4.5. Prepare reports about the activities implemented by the HERE team for EACEA and the Commission Services, and
4.6. Keep the National Authorities informed on the work programmes, as well as on planned and implemented activities and disseminate information about the HERE activities to the wider public.
